Mysterious contract for Alan Hillary Events team
Alan Hillary Events Ltd has been appointed by the City of Culture Bid team to provide specialist event management services to ensure the successful delivery of the Durham Mysteries 2010 project.
Ten new stories have been commissioned for the Durham Mysteries 2010 which is a contemporary revival of Durham’s medieval Mystery Plays. The new cycle consists of ten contemporary interpretations of some of the greatest stories ever told including Noah and the Flood, Cain and Abel and The Nativity.
The AHE team will work alongside a wide range of creative practitioners including writers, directors, set-designers and performance groups to produce a seamless, first class outdoor production which will take place on The Sands in May 2010.
With an exceptional track record of producing outdoor events on a grand scale, the AHE team brings to the steering group the practical knowledge and event know how to ensure that the event is a resounding success.
Durham Mysteries will become a signature event in Durham’s cultural programme with a new interpretation every three years, the first coinciding with the bid to become the first British City of Culture in 2013.
